Ohio Career Development Association (OCDA) 2019 Conference

"Inclusion in Career Services"

Registration is now open for the 2019 Ohio Career Development Association (OCDA) Conference! The conference will take place on Friday, May 31st 2019 at Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, Ohio. We are offering you a variety of speakers on the theme of Inclusion in Career Services. Please click here to register. *Breakfast and Lunch will be provided as part of your registration.

 

KEYNOTE SPEAKER: 

Dr. Kathy Evans, PhD, is the current President Elect of NCDA. She has taught career counseling for 20 years, been a counselor educator for 25 years, and teaches classes on counseling and advocacy. She also developed a graduate certificate program for Career Development Facilitators.

 

BREAKOUT #1 SESSIONS: 

Joe Robinson, CA, QMHS, Career Development Specialist, and Amy Howell, Employment Case Manager, both from Goodwill Workforce Development, will present “Branding and Marketing Yourself”. 

 

Nancy Ronevich, M.A., LPC, MBTI Master Practitioner and Director of Career Services at Franciscan University of Steubenville, will present on “Understanding Type Balance and Type Development in the MBTI”.

 

BREAKOUT #2 SESSIONS: 

Doanise Thompson, M. Ed., NCDA Certified Career Development Facilitator, and Caitlin Conrad, M.Ed., both Career Coaches at The Ohio State University  who will be talking about “My Client is Different from Me!: Time To Talk About Inclusiveness”.

 

Franceska Jones, MNO, GCDF, Career Coordinator, and Elizabeth Presley, Certified Career Coach, both from Notre Dame College will be presenting on “Bridging the Gap: Between Career Services and Disabilities Services”.

 

BREAKOUT #3 SESSIONS: 

Leigh Mascolino, Manager of Career Services from The Ohio State University and Bethani Burkhart, MH, Director of Career and Academic Development at Hiram College, will be presenting “Make it Tangible: Walk Away with Theory-Based Career Activities”.

 

Katie Flanigan, M.Ed., GCDF, Career Advisor, and Gabriela (Larkins) Mendicino, Career Communities Engagement Coordinator, both from Baldwin Wallace University with their presentation “Level Up in Life: Overcoming Barriers to Student Career Development”.
