Using Career Development to Transform a School’s Culture
Webinar Presented by: Dr. Cal Crow
Center for Learning Connections
Edmonds Community College, Lynnwood, WA
NCDA Webinar Wednesday, January 18, 2017
For years NCDA has been working to get career development infused into the K-12 academic curriculum, with mixed results. It’s time to reverse the order. The current education system is not designed for student success. Giving it a career development focus will change that. Imagine a school system organized around the strengths, skills, talents, interests and dreams of students. Rather than getting through the curriculum, the goal is on getting through to students. The curriculum is a vehicle to help make this occur, but is not an end in itself. Its purpose is to ensure that every student acquires knowledge and skill sets that will lead to a successful future. This webinar will demonstrate ways to transform and design a new approach to career development delivery in K-12.
NCDA School Career Counselor and Specialist Constituency will provide online, follow-up discussion forums to promote member networking and sharing of effective practices. (Leave your Comments below).
